Cancellation Policy
This Cancellation Policy explains how to cancel your HostPowr services, what happens when you do, and how cancellations relate to billing and your data. It forms part of our Terms of Service and works alongside our Backup Policy.
1. How to Cancel
- 1.1 You may cancel your services at any time through your HostPowr account/billing area, or by contacting hello@hostpowr.com.
- 1.2 To stop an upcoming renewal, you must cancel before your renewal date. We recommend cancelling at least 24–48 hours before renewal to allow for processing.
- 1.3 Cancellation requests must come from the registered account holder.
2. When Cancellation Takes Effect
2.1 You can choose to cancel:
- At end of billing period — your service continues until the paid period ends, then stops (recommended).
- Immediately — your service is terminated right away.
2.2 If you do not specify, cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period.
3. Billing & Refunds on Cancellation
- 3.1 Cancelling stops future renewal charges.
- 3.2 Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund of fees already paid, except where we expressly offer a refund window (for example, a limited first-time cooling-off period stated at purchase).
- 3.3 We do not provide pro-rata or partial refunds for unused time on a cancelled service.
- 3.4 Non-refundable items (domains, setup fees, add-ons, renewals, VPS/dedicated/reseller where stated) remain non-refundable on cancellation.
4. What Happens to Your Data
- 4.1 When your service is cancelled or ends, your data, files, emails, databases, and any associated backups may be permanently deleted.
- 4.2 It is your responsibility to download and back up all data before cancellation or expiry. See our Backup Policy.
- 4.3 We are under no obligation to retain, restore, or provide your data after your service ends.
- 4.4 After deletion, data cannot be recovered.
5. Domains on Cancellation
- 5.1 Domain registrations are separate from hosting and are non-refundable.
- 5.2 Cancelling hosting does not automatically cancel or transfer your domain. If you wish to keep or move your domain, you must arrange this before cancellation.
- 5.3 You are responsible for managing domain renewal or transfer to avoid losing the domain.
6. Non-Payment & Automatic Cancellation
- 6.1 If an invoice remains unpaid past its due date, your service may be suspended and subsequently cancelled.
- 6.2 Services cancelled for non-payment follow the same data-deletion terms as voluntary cancellation.
- 6.3 Reactivation after suspension may be subject to a fee and is not guaranteed once data has been deleted.
7. Cancellation by HostPowr
- 7.1 We may suspend or cancel your services for breach of our Terms or Acceptable Use Policy, non-payment, or illegal activity — without refund.
- 7.2 We may also decline to renew services at our discretion, giving reasonable notice where possible.
8. Reactivation
- 8.1 A suspended account may be reactivated if the underlying issue (e.g. payment or policy breach) is resolved, subject to our discretion and any applicable fee.
- 8.2 Once an account is fully cancelled and data deleted, reactivation with prior data is not possible.
9. Changes
We may update this Cancellation Policy at any time. The current version applies to your ongoing use of our services.
