How billing, renewals and invoices work
Where to find invoices, what the renewal price will be, how term discounts apply, and why the amount on your invoice may differ from the price on the site.
The rate you agree for a term is the rate that term renews at. There is no introductory price that resets in year two, which means the number on your first invoice is the number you should expect on your next one for the same service and term.
Term discounts are ten per cent for one year, fifteen for two and twenty for three. VPS and n8n plans sell up to two years, so they cap at fifteen. The discount applies to the renewal as well as the initial term — it is a commitment discount, not a first-year promotion.
Before you start
- Invoices and payment methods live in the client portal at portal.hostpowr.com, not on the main website.
- Prices on the site are shown excluding VAT. What you pay depends on your country and status — see the troubleshooting section.
Steps
- Log in to the client portal at portal.hostpowr.com.
- Open Billing → My Invoices for every invoice raised on the account, paid and unpaid.
- Select an invoice to see the line items, the term it covers and the payment status.
- Use Billing → Payment Methods to add or change a card. Payments are handled by Paddle, our merchant of record.
- Check Services → My Services for the next due date on each product.
Check that it worked
- Confirm the next due date matches the term you bought — a three-year term should not be renewing annually.
- Check that the invoice total matches the plan price plus VAT, minus any term discount.
If it goes wrong
- The invoice is higher than the price on the website
- Site prices exclude VAT. Belgian and EU consumers see VAT added at the applicable rate. EU businesses with a valid VAT number can apply the reverse charge, which removes it — add your VAT number to the account and it applies from the next invoice.
- A payment failed and the service is suspended
- Pay the outstanding invoice from the portal and the service reactivates. Cards expire more often than anything else causes this, so check the expiry date on file first.
- You want to change term mid-cycle
- Open a billing ticket. Moving from monthly to a longer term is usually straightforward and prorated; moving the other way generally waits for the end of the term you already paid for.
There is no setup fee on any product. SSL certificates, daily backups on hosting plans and architect-led migration are included rather than sold as add-ons, and bandwidth is part of the plan rather than metered per gigabyte.
If an invoice does not look right, ask before paying it. Billing questions reach the same team as technical ones and are answered within two hours.
